ABOUT MYSELF AND MY FAMILY
I am Lena Sergeeva. Lena is my first name and Sergeeva is my surname. I want to tell you about myself and my family. Our family is large: Mother, Father, my sister Ann, my brother Alex and my grandparents. We all live together in a large house. There are seven of us in the family.
First of all some words about my parents. My Mother is a doctor. She works in a hospital. She is a good doctor. Her patients like her. She likes her profession and reads a lot of books on medicine. She is a qualified doctor. She likes cooking. When she has some spare time she cooks wonderful dishes.
My Father is a worker. He is an experienced electrician. Father is handy in everything. He reads a lot. His hobby is fishing. He knows everything about fish and how to fish. But he often comes home without any fish and Mother goes to the shop for fish. Father is a good singer. He often sings and when we are at home and have some free time I play the guitar and we sing together.
My Grandpa is a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. He often tells us about the war and the heroism of the soldiers of his regiment. He is a good agronomist. He still works at the college and spends a lot of time with his students in the fields.
Our Granny is a pensioner. We all adore her because she is the heat of our family. Our Granny was a drama actress and she often sings and plays sketches with us. She is very hospitable and she likes when there are many people in the house. She bakes such biscuits and cakes that you can’t help tasting them. But sometimes she is ill and we help her with the housework. My brother Alex goes shopping and I help about the house.
My brother Alex is nineteen. He is a part-time student. He combines his studies at an economic college with the work as a TV repairman. He is fond of sports and computers. Alex plays basketball, football, tennis. He is tall and handsome. He knows computers well and has many friends.
My sister Ann is a schoolgirl. She is in the third form. She also goes to a musical school, ballet school and dreams of becoming an actress. She is very gifted and I think her dreams will come true. Ann has deep blue eyes and a pretty little nose. She is very charming.
I am a student. I am sixteen. I study at a Legal college. I want to become a lawyer. I study well because I want to become a good specialist. I like to take part in the students’ activities: I am a member of English club and a monitor in the group. I am tall, my eyes are green and my hair is fair. I am always in a good mood. I have many friends and the boys find me pretty.

OUR FLAT
My name is Sergei Dneprov. We live in Krasnodar in Kuznechnaya street in a new block of flats. It is a new nine-storied building in the suburbs of the city. There is a large and beautiful park in front of our block of flats. In the morning you can hear the birds to sing their songs there.
Our flat is large and comfortable. It is a four-room flat. We bought it two years ago. We live on the fifth floor. There is a shop on the ground floor. So it is very comfortable to do shopping. There is a lift in our block of flats.
Though there are four rooms in our flat we like the living-room best of all because in the evenings we gather there to have tea, watch TV, talk and rest.
Our living-room is large. There are two windows and two doors in it. One door leads to the balcony. The room is large and cosy. There is a set of furniture in the room, a large carpet on the floor, beautiful curtains on the windows that suit the carpet. There is also a table and some chairs in the middle of the room. The TV set is in the corner opposite the sofa. There are two very comfortable arm-chairs and a piano in the living-room. My sister plays the piano and we often listen her to play. We like to read books and that is why there is a very large bookcase in the room. It contains many different books for reading.
In the morning we have breakfast in the kitchen. It is large and light. There is a special set of furniture in it. The table and a round sofa are near the window. The refrigerator is in the corner. It keeps all the food fresh. It doesn’t use much electricity. The gas stove is near the wall. The walls are greenish. There is also a TV set on the wall in front of the sofa. The curtains are very lovely. We like to have meals and to spend time together in the kitchen.
There are always running hot and cold water and central heating in our block of flats.
When we bought our flat we invited our friends and relatives for the house-warming. They presented us with many useful things. The house-warming was very joyful and hearty.

OUR COLLEGE
My name is Lena Sergeeva. In June I finished school and in August passed my exams at Armavir Legal college. The level pass to our college was eight. I got four in Russian and five in Mathematics. So my level pass was nine. I became a student. Now I am a full-time first-year student.
Our college is not far from our block of flats and I can easily get there by bus or trolley-bus. It takes me about 25 minutes to get to the college. Sometimes I go there on foot. And though it takes me about an hour, it is healthy to walk.
Our college occupies two buildings. It runs full-time and correspondence departments. There are three departments in our college: Law Department, Law in Social Aid Department and Finance Department. I study at Law in Social Aid Department.
Our studies begin at 8 o’clock, usually we have three double periods a day. We have lunch break at 11 o’clock. We have a good canteen and during our lunch break we take our meals there. There is a gym on the ground floor. Our library is on the ground floor too. It contains a lot of books and fiction. It is open from 10 a.m. till 7 p.m. in term-time. There is a large reading –room on the second floor. It is well-equipped with different books, dictionaries, text-books, reference books, periodicals, newspapers, magazines and journals. It has 16 computers and we often do our homework , papers and reports there. Our classrooms and laboratories are large and light. Our labs have modern equipment.
The academic session began on the first of September and will end in July. Every day we attend lectures, have seminars and practical training.
I do well because I want to become a good specialist. At the end of the term we’ll take exams and I’ll try to pass them successfully.
Some of our students live in the hostel. It is opposite our college. It is very convenient: it takes our students only five minutes to get to the college.
